MARRS INTERNATIONAL SPELLING BEE COMPETITION was held on 19th December, 2011 in our school which was organized by Pearson Longman. This competition was based on the formation of words and spellings.

         38 students from our school had participated in this competition. It was held in two categories viz; Junior Group (V-VI) and Senior Group (VII-IX). There were three rounds at the school level. They are as follows:

First Round-Dictation Round

Second Round-Identify the correct spelling & Jumbled Letters.

Final Round- Spell It

         The main aim of this competition was to emphasize on improving the students communicative skills through vocabulary enrichment and their application. This self-paced learning improves retention and results in a systematic understanding of the English Language.

SPELL LINC COMPETITION was held in our school on 25th Janaury, 2012. It was organized by Linc Pens. It was based on handwriting and language improvement.

                 All the students from Std V to Std. IX had participated in this competition. There was Junior Group (V-VII) & Senior Group (Std. VII- IX).It was only the writing competition for the Junior Group whereas for the senior group the competition was based on word formation. Ten students were selected from each group for the second round which was again shortlisted and only three of our students reached to the final round. The final round was conducted on 15th February, 2012 at I.E.S School in Bandra. The participants of the final round were: Zufishan Zafar (Std. IX-B), Khan Afreen (Std. IX-B) and Ansari Shariah (Std. VII-B).

              The aim of this competition was to motivate the students to develop healthy competitive spirit and to builds self-confidence and it helps the children to develop their full potential.

15th February,2012  – Inter school Elocution Competition :    at  E.E.E Session High School

                   The students of Anjuman-I-Islam’s Begum Sharifa Kalsekar Girl’s English School participated in the Interschool Elocution Competition which was organized in memory of late Mrs. Florrie Sopher beloved mother of Mr. Solomon Sopher, Philanthropist and Educationist, Chairman and Managing Trustee of E.E.E Sassoon High School.

This Competition was held for the development of Leadership Qualities among students and the participants got a chance to expose their potential in public speaking and gave them the opportunity to express themselves.

Each Participant in the Junior Group ( V- VII ) and Senior Group ( VIII-X ) were awarded with a certificate for Participation.

3. Television ‘Good or Bad’.

 

  Topics for Senior Groups were ( VIII- X ) 

1. Corruption in Government.

 

2. India as a World Power.

 

3. Stress in Modern Day Life. 

 

 Students got an opportunity to learn how to speak in Elocution, the mode, manner and style of speaking, voice intonation and expressing their topics in different way.
