5th August:-Transport Committee Meeting.

The 1st Transport Committee Meeting was held in our school. Our Hon’ble President, Dr.Zahir I. Kazi along with Mrs.Shama Tarapurwala, Ms.Fauzia Ansari, Mrs.Shermeen Syed, Mrs.Talat Shaikh, PTA  members and the teachers of the committee, other important dignitaries like the traffic police and some members of the NGO  were also present. Issues like 1) Traffic Police to be appointed near the gate.2) No parents to be allowed to enter the school premises were discussed at the meeting. 3) Easy dispersal of the students when the school leaves were some of the concerns that were discussed in the meeting.

 

20th-21st August:- Inter School Debate Competition.

The India International Model United Nations (IIMUN) Chapter Mumbai 16 at Green Lawn School, had organized a debate for the students where in different committees were made and these committees had different topics on which they had to debate. 5 of our students from Std VII and VIII attended this session. The students were allotted different countries and they had different topics like DISEC,BMC, for Debate. Our students performed really well and now have a clear understanding of the UN Model.

22nd August:-NO HONKING DAY.

In order to combat noise pollution, the Times of India in association with ‘Awaz Foundation’ and NIE initiated an extensive ‘NO HONKING DRIVE’ which intended to highlight the grave issue of the noise pollution created due to honking. A ppt was shown to the students on ‘No HONKING’. Stickers were also distributed to the students to encourage their parents to put it on their vehicles and support the cause.

29th August:-Inter Anjuman Essay Writing Competition for Teachers.

It was held in the respective schools of Anjuman-I-Islam. According to the groups, the teachers were divided into 3 categories viz. Under graduate,  Graduate and Post Graduate. The topics were:-1) Value Education, Need of the Hour 2) Responsibilities of Teachers in preparing the students to face the challenges of 21st century. 3) Mental Pressures: the students face –Ways and Means to help them. Results for this Competition are yet to be declared.
