INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL AWARD :Organized by British Council
86 schools from across India have received the International School Award for their exemplary work in the year 2009-10 in integrating international dimension in the school curriculum. The awards were presented to the schools in an enthralling ceremony held in Chennai at the residence of the British Deputy High Commissioner, Southern India. Since the introduction of ISA in India in 2003, a total of 245 schools have been awarded the accreditation, and the programme continues to inspire and encourage a larger number of schools each year.
A large number of activities were held round the year in our school ,as we worked for the ISA award. The activities have been scattered amongst various classes right from Std I- Std VIII. All these activities had an international touch to them. Through these activities children have become globally aware of the various academic and non-academic activities. Some of these activities were My Family, Long live our Liberty, Nutrition Week, The week’s Weather, Language Club, Animals In Zoo, Etc.
There has also been a lot of exchange with our other partner schools based on these activities such as ppt. presentations, exchange of questionnaires, poems, photographs, etc
Loads of Activities were conducted to cover these activities in the form of dramatization, notice board display, poem recitation, essays, poster making competition, etc.

Over these few months we have established a strong link with a few school s in U.K.
Our School has also been Registered on the Global Gateway thus establishing a link with various schools around the globe, so that we can turn our students into global citizens.

To work with global partners to achieve their educational goals and ours.
BRITISH COUNCIL AMBASSADOR SCHOOL
This year we had one more jewel attached to our crown as the British Council has chosen us as one of their ambassador school in the West of India ( Only a few best of the schools have been selected ). A workshop for the same was held at Chilrens’ Academy, Kandivili on the 7th and 8thof September. The report of the workshop is as follows:
Importance of being the British Council School Ambassador:
The school gets international recognition and accreditation. The schools will be provided with the official logo of the British Council which can be used for their documents .
Profile raising and publicity for the schools
Development of leadership amongst the staff and students. Enhancement of the curriculum thereby giving it a global dimension catering to the all round development of the child.

What does it involve:
Join the Connecting Classroom Online through the web portal provided by the British Council specially created for their Ambassadors whereby they can establish varied links round the globe.
Identify the schools which have the potential for ISA and other projects of the British Council.
Commitment to briefing and supporting such schools. ( about 10 schools and more )
Train and mentor these Schools towards their ISA and Globalized curriculum.
Networking with like-minded schools.
Professional online networking to create global citizens.
Willingness to embark on a new journey of building links and exploring the world at large
